| The Wilayat of Dima W’attayeen is one f the beautiful wilayats and tourist destinations not just in AL Sharqia region , but in the whole country. It is about 170 km far from Muscat through Wadi Aq road which leads to the whole region. The wilayat consists of about 50 villages with a population of about 17,000 people in addition of others living in the mountainous. In regard to the location, this wilayat borders with Wilayat Qurayat to the north, the Wilayat Ibra to the south, the wilayats AL Qabel and Bidiya to the east and the Wilayat AL Mudhaibi to the west. Due to the geographical location of the wilayat, it offers to visitors opportunities for a series of expedition adventures through its mountain and caves. Dima W’attayeen is the combination of both wild and agricultural environments represented in the mountainous villages, rich farms and spectacular wadies. Also, it is famous for the cultivation and production of different of type Omani dates, which usually ripe about a month earlier than other wilayat in the Sultanate, such as Naghal, Khalas, Khisab and Jabri. Dima W’attayeen offers distinctively unique attractions which nowhere else in the Sultanate you can find; the archaeological sites and mountainous land scapes so rich with beautiful wadis and water spring. Wadi Dayqah and Smut, for example, are well-known for their abundant natural water resources almost all the time of the year. There are many water spring some of which are Ain AL Falaj, Ain Falaj AL Mur,Ain AL Sukhna, Ain AL Judho and Ain A’zaam. Like any other wilayat in the Sultanate, Dima W’attayeen has 187 afalaj distributed in various villeges of this wilayat, for example, Falaj AL Hjri, AL Lobly, AL Aqdani, A’ tahti and many others.
Among the tourist attractions which provide the sense of adventure in the Wilayat is Al Jabal Al Abiyadh, the White Mountain. It can be reached easily through the Wadi Al Ismailiya in the Wilayat of Ibra. Aljeelah is a quiet and peaceful village located on this mountain where you can see the very old tombs shaped like towers. It has many mountain roads presenting different views of the blue waters of the sea.
Wadi Al Tayeen, as a major tourist attraction, extends for about 80 kilometres along of Al Hajr Al Sharqi series of mountains. It’s a wonderful wadi distinguished by flowing water throughout the year. Another relaxing spot in the wilayat is Wadi Dayqah which attracts the visitors with the spectacular scenery of flowing water. It passes through the Wilayat of Qurayat on its way to reach the sea at Daghmar. If you are an adventure enthusiast, this wadi is the perfect spot for challenges.
